It is correct to give more powers to some people to insure more safety like in airports or to protect the people's health. However, there should always be a counterpower as strong, so that in any case where abuse or corruption occurs, they should face severe consequences. As the use of force is involved or human right restriction, then there should always be a way to sanction more severely the people who use these mechanisms in irrelevant cases and errors should not be tolerated from any abuse of authority. Meaning that the legal system requires strong independant judiciary mechanisms, so the culprid cannot escape the action of the law. People abusing with force or terror should be ready to fall and be punishable by criminal charges.

Example: recent restriction of freedoms from the NDA Act in the USA. Is it accountable ? Why to give almost unlimited powers when we know all abuse of powers which were recorded against American Customs' Officers. They were given extended rights and they really mistreated several persons which I personnaly know and were not representing any threat againts USA. Now, they do not want to go back to the USA.

Other example: October 70 events in Canada where they voted the war measure act to pin down a small group of terrorists when the police was well equiped to complete the work. The amount of force has always to be in proportion to the amount of threat.

Final example: I was refused access to an Air France flight by an over zealous employee in a case which did not represent any threat. Lack of judgement could have caused dramatic consequences on an honest person. These cases should not be allowed and laws should not exist in this fashion, meaning punishing the innocents.
